Diagonal Granny Stripe Blanket

Me and this blanket have been through the wringer together since I started it back at the beginning of March; sickness, my kids sickness, a child’s mental health diagnosis, a bunch of doctors appointments, etc, etc. This blanket may very well end up being the very first thing that I keep for myself since I started back in 2011!

I had 6 different color skeins of Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn (this stuff is so soft for acrylic yarn!) that I wasn’t sure what to do with because they were the leftovers from my Think Spring Baby Blanket, so I started perusing the web and Pinterest and all those places to see what I could find or if I was going to have to come up with something on my own. I came across a Diagonal Stripe Granny Cowl from Zooty Owl…you see where I took the cowl…turned it into a blanket! The cowl pattern can be found here. I just kept increasing until I go to the length/width I wanted then went back to the directions to see how to decrease and went from there. Once you get in the groove, it’s one of those patterns that you don’t really need it in front of you the entire time, which are my favorites!

I still have a few ends to weave in and I haven’t decided what border to use or even if I want one at all because it doesn’t really seem necessary.
