The Peter Pan Effect

This one is my current favorite pattern. I have a fondness for graphghans. I’ve never been a fan of the cross stitch over single crochet thing. For one, I don’t think it looks great and, for two, its double the work and I’m all for the K. I. S. S. Method of doing things. Anyway, this one was a crochet along in my Ravelry group a while back so it has been tested. Unfortunately, I only got around to counting out the row counts and only working halfway through the pattern. Yep, its still a WIP in my closet! Once I get it finished (who knows when that will be), I will post an actual picture. If you want to see actual pictures of the finished item, check out the pattern page on Ravelry!

  1. Going to start it today! Was wondering if you could clarify about reading the pattern. You say to read every second row backwards. So that’s every even row? Which means row 8, which is written “Row 8: 89B, 7P, 17B”, should actually be stitched 17B, 7P, 89B?

    • Only read every second row backwards if you’re working in sc or hdc. If you’re doing one of those methods, then you are correct. If you’re working in Tunisian you read it as written.

    • You can if you want to, you’ll just have a lot of ends to weave in after. Most people tend to use bobbins or separate skeins/balls. I, myself, prefer to use butterfly bobbins, which doesn’t require anything special, just using your fingers. There’s a great tutorial on how to make them on

  2. What is the size of the blanket? I need to make a twin size for a cousin that has a disability.

    • I started with HDC but i think I’m also gonna start over again with SC…i guess it just looks and works better 🙂
