Another week has gone by and I managed to finish 2 projects these past 7 days! The first project is Doily Baby Blanket V! As the title states, it is the fifth one of these blankets that I have made, yep 5!!
I am constantly finding myself drawn to variegated yarns, but there aren’t many patterns that manage to look decent if you’re not into the new color pooling trend…and I am not! The Doily Baby Blanket is one that I find works excellently! It was the very first Blanket I made and is still my go to for those finicky skeins! This round I used Red Heart Super Saver in the colorway Wildflower. The border was done in Red Heart Super Saver in the colorway Light Blue. This pattern calls for a DK weight yarn and an H Hook, but I like to use worsted weight and an I Hook! Took me just under 100 yard to complete the center portion and a small amount of the light blue, I don’t have exact totals.
My next completed project is Bear 1.
This bear is 1 of 3 that I’m making for my kids to have on Easter! These bears are going to hide and send the kids on a scavenger hunt to find them! I think it’ll be so much fun! This bear was created from the pattern called John the Canadian Bear by Ira Rott. It was a super quick and super fun project to make! As with all of her patterns, this one is super well written and easier than it looks! My bear ended up being only 27″ tall; I Crochet tightly! The pattern states that the bear is supposed to be 31″ tall, so next time, I’ll just go up a Hook size and see what that does! With my gauge, I used EXACTLY 2 balls of Bernat Baby Blanket (the 220 yard ones) and a small amount of a small ball of Bernat Blanket. I used a 9.00mm Hook, but next time I’ll use a 10.00mm Hook! 1 down, 2 more to go!
Well, I hope I’ve managed to inspire you a little this week!
