Didn’t get a whole lot finished this week as I’ve been rotating between new designs and old WIPs that have been sitting in a pile for an embarrassingly long time! I did, however, manage to finish 1 project!
My Orchid Lace Baby Blanket! I knew I was going to make this blanket as soon as I saw this yarn! It was kind of one of those meant-to-be moments! The yarn is Lion Brand Mandala. I found the yarn at one of my local WalMart Stores (we have 2 within a 20 minute drive, it’s really pointless) and I picked up 2 cakes of it; unfortunately and unbeknownst to me, it was to be the first and last time I would see it! Not fair because finding a cake yarn in DK weight was like a dream come true! And this yarn is definitely dreamy. My entire blanket was made from less than 2 of the cakes, including the border, which just happened to frame the blanket perfectly!
I’m not sure on the final measurements of my blanket, but I worked the pattern as written so it should have come out relatively close to the original. My favorite part about this pattern is the border! The main body of the blanket is super simple, but the border can be a bit tricky if you don’t pay attention to what you’re doing and read carefully! Once you get the hang of it though, it’s a breeze.
