Pocket Full of Posies 

I love springtime! It’s full of pretty flowers, which, in turn, turns into beautiful statements of inspiration! The pretty flowers in my flower box inspired this filet style Baby Blanket!

Materials:

  • Approx 1,116 Yards of DK Weight Yarn
  • H Hook
  • Needle
  • Scissors

Special Stitches:

  • V-Stitch: (dc, ch 1, dc)in indicated stitch
  • Shell: (3dc, ch 1, 3dc)in indicated stitch

Directions:

Ch 131

  • Row 1: Dc in 5th chain from hook and each chain across, turn.
  • Row 2: Ch 5 (counts as a dc, ch 2, here and throughout), skip 3 stitches, v-stitch in next stitch, ch 2, skip 3 stitches, dc in next 7 stitches, *ch 2, skip 3 stitches, v-stitch in next stitch, ch 2, skip 3 stitches, dc in next 7 stitches,** repeat from *to** across, dc in top of beginning ch-3, turn.
  • Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as a stitch here and throughout), dc in next 7 stitches, shell in ch-1 space of v-stitch, skip next dc and ch-2 space, dc in next 7 stitches, *shell in ch-1 space of v-stitch, skip next dc and ch-2 space, dc in next 7 stitches,** repeat from *to** across, dc in 3rd ch of beginning ch-5, turn.
  • Row 4: Ch 5, v-stitch in ch-1 space of shell, ch 2, skip 3 dc, dc in next 7 stitches, *ch 2, v-stitch in ch-1 space of shell, ch 2, skip 3 dc, dc in next 7 stitches,** repeat from *to** across, dc in 3rd chain of beginning ch-3, turn.
  • Row 5: Ch 3, dc in each stitch across, making sure to put 1 dc in each ch-1 space and 2 dc in each ch-2 space, turn.
  • Row 6: Ch 3, *dc in next 7 stitches, ch 2, skip 3 stitches, v-stitch in next stitch, ch 2, skip 3 stitches,** repeat from *to** across, dc in 3rd chain of beginning ch-3, turn.
  • Row 7: Ch 3, *shell in ch-1 space of v-stitch, skip ch-2 space, dc in next 7 stitches,** repeat from *to** across, dc in 3rd chain of beginning ch-3, turn.
  • Row 8: Ch 3, *dc in next 7 stitches, ch 2, v-stitch in ch-1 space of shell, ch 2, skip 3 dc,** repeat from *to** across, dc in 3rd chain of beginning ch-3, turn.
  • Row 9: Repeat Row 5

Repeat Rows 2-9, 8 times more for a total of 9 repeats.


Border:

  • Round 1: Ch 1, starting with a corner stitch, sc in each stitch around, putting 2sc in each dc along the sides and 1 extra stitch in each corner, join.
  • Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as a dc, ch 1), dc in same stitch, dc in each stitch along side until corner stitch, *(dc, ch 1, dc)in corner stitch, dc in each stitch along side until corner stitch,** repeat from *to** around, join with a sl st to 3rd chain of beginning ch-4.
  • Round 3: Ch 1, reverse sc in each stitch around, putting 3 reverse sc in each corner ch-1 space, join.
