I have, surprisingly, been able to finish 3 projects this week! Unfortunately, none of them are any new designs that I’ve managed to come up with.
My first finished project is called Hibernate Blanket.
This is a free pattern from the Yarnspirations company. It uses Bernat Blanket yarn, which makes this big blanket work up real fast! In fact, this blanket only took me 5 days! And that wasn’t even working on it straight! I used up some leftover Bernat Blanket yarn I had in my stash and didn’t want to purchase more, so my blanket isn’t as big as the pattern states. My blanket measures about 52″ x 48″, but I also Crochet rightly and didn’t worry about gauge. My blanket took me about 5 balls total with the stated 9mm hook. Needless to say, I am finished with a Christmas present in June! If you’re looking for a last minute gift, this would be a great one!
My second finished project of the week is Treasured Heirloom Baby Blanket.
This is a free knitting pattern from the Lion Brand Company. I was so excited to work on and finish this blanket! The pattern is written for using one solid color, but I wanted to use more! My blanket reminds me of a rainbow in storm clouds! It was exactly what I was going for as I’m hoping to be able to gift this to a mother whose having a rainbow baby; to remind them to look for the rainbow in every storm of life. My yarn choices were Lion Brand Heartland in Great Smoky Mountains, about 1.5 balls, and Ice Yarns Magic Light in a bright rainbow color (their yarns don’t really have designated color names), about .5 balls. I used the stated US8 circular needles, but haven’t gotten a final measurement on it yet. This blanket is one that definitely needs to be blocked, but other than that, it’s easy and cozy!
My final finished project for the week was Seed Stitch, Knit-Look Slouch Hat.
This is one of my own free patterns. One of my favorite hat patterns as I love the look and feel of it! This hat was an attempt at using up the rest of a Caron Cake in Mixed Berry that I had leftover from the last one of these I made, but, I came to find that each of these hats only uses about 1/3rd of a cake!
Well, I hope I was able to inspire you to create something new or finish something old this week!
Until next time,
