Quick and Bulky Shawl

Good Morning! I have a new shawl for you this morning! I know that its supposed to be Spring in most of the US, but it seems to be dragging its feet lately, so I came up with this shawl pattern for those of you who still need a little something extra to keep you cozy! This would also work for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere who are starting their winter season! I get asked, sometimes, why I make winter items in the Spring/Summer. The answer is pretty simple when you think outside of your immediate area; its not Summer in all parts of the world when its Summer here, so I like to cater to all my followers no matter what the temperature may be where you are!

I won’t bore you with my blathering on and on, so I hope you enjoy my newest shawl pattern. The written version is available for free on my blog, but if you’d like the chart version, it can be purchased for a small fee here on Ravelry (the written version is also part of the purchase and I did not add any photos to make it easier on your printer ink!).

  1. I’d love to make your shawl, but I don’t get the very beginning of your instructions. rotate work 90 degrees, pick up and k3 sts along edge, rotate work 90 degrees, pick up and k2 sts on CO edge. I’m lost before I start.

    • For the garter tab cast on, you’ll cast on 2 stitches, Knit 6 rows, turn, Knit 2 stitches, then you’ll rotate your work so that your working along the edge of your garter, pick up and Knit 3 stitches along that edge, rotate your work again so your working along the cast on edge, pick up and Knit 2 stitches. You should have a total of 7 stitches. I hope that helps!
