Moose Scene Hat Pattern

I have finally finished a new pattern! I know it’s been a long while, but I’ve been doing some Halloween sewing and Christmas present knitting lately! That’s how this hat design came about; Christmas present making. I needed a hat for my uncle who is an avid hunter, but I didn’t want to do a deer or a buck, that’s too obvious, so I chose a moose instead!

This pattern isn’t for the beginner. I mean, you’e more than welcome to make it your first foray into colorwork, I just don’t want you to get overly frustrated!

Instead of working over the top of a color that needed to be carried, I took a tip from my knitting fairisle and carried my uncorked color along the back while “catching” it every few stitches as I didn’t really want the red showing through the white. But you can do it however you wish!

Anyway, I won’t keep blathering on!
