While it’s been a while since I actually remembered to post a Finished Friday, it hasn’t been that long between finished items! I’ve been busting my butt trying to finish/start Christmas gifts for my family and friends!
This week’s Finished Friday is something that has taken me 2 years to “finish.” And I say finish like that because I didn’t actually finish the entire pattern, but after 2 years and a whole lot of yarn, I figured it was either time to find a good ending spot or frog. Considering the yarn I chose for this project isn’t the easiest to frog, I decided to finish it.
Here is this week’s Finished Friday project: Rings of Change!
I started this project on October 24, 2016 and just, finally, ended it this last week! I have a habit of getting project distracted and this is a big project was taking me 30 minutes just to finish 1 round toward the end, so thinking about picking it back up was slightly daunting. But, it’s finished now and will probably be gifted to my aunt for Christmas this year.
The pattern costs, as of this date, $6.99, but it is WELL worth it! There is a mini version that is available if you want to test the waters before diving in. Both can be found on Ravelry!
The yarn I used in this project was Red Heart Unforgettable in colorway Candied! Out of 111 Rounds, I made it to Round 58 and it measures over 4 feet in diameter! It also took 7 balls of the Unforgettable yarn, approximately 1,960 yards, to make it that far. In order to finish all 111 rounds, it would have taken me, approximately, 16 balls to finish! I used the suggested H hook and it worked just fine for me. So, if you decide to jump into this project, just beware that it will eat both time and materials!
Well, I’m off to work on more Christmas gifts! I hope I’ve inspired you for the week! Stay crafty!!
