Seed Stitch Knit-Look Hat: Super Billy Version

I had some leftover Yarn Bee Effortless from a blanket I made as a Christmas gift and wanted to turn it into a hat! I didn’t want the hat to take a long time, but I wanted it to have some texture, so decided that I’d try a Super Bulky version of my Seed Stitch Knit Look Slouch!

Knit-Look Slouchy Hat – Bulky Version

Materials:

  • Yarn Bee Effortless or approximately 100 yards of Super Bulky (6) Weight Yarn
  • N/9.00mm & P/10.00mm Hooks
  • Scissors
  • Needle

Size: Adult

Directions:

With 9.00mm hook:

Ch 7

Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and each st across (6 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, working in 3rd loop only, hdc into each of the 6 sts across, turn. (6 sts)

Repeat row 2 for 34 rows, join the two ends of the brim together and sl st through the back loops of each end.

Rotate work 180 degrees so you’re working along the sides of the brim.

Round 1: Switch to 10.00mm book, Ch 1, sc in same stitch and in each stitch around (be sure you have an even number), join with a sl st to first sc. (34 sc)

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in back loop of first st, sc in front loop of next st, *sc in back loop of next st, sc in front loop of next st,** repeat from *to** around, join.

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in front loop of first st, sc in back loop of next st, *sc in front loop of next st, sc in back loop of next st,** repeat from *to** around, join.

Repeat Rounds 2 & 3 until you have 8″ (or desired amount of slouch) from the brim, approximately 14 rounds.

To Decrease:

Round 1-2: Ch 1, maintaining pattern, sc2tog around, join.

***To maintain your stitch pattern on decreases, work through front and back loops as necessary.***

Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Weave through remaining stitches, pull to close top of hat. Secure and weave in ends.

Pretty simple! I hope you enjoy it!
